More About Me

I’ve got a big mouth, a big laugh, big boobs, big dreams, a bigger heart. I’m a non-stop talker, facebook stalker, picture taker, rule breaker.

I love bright sky, bright smiles, bright people, people who listen, glisten, people who care, people who dare, being different, being comfortable, being crazy, lazy, funny, spending money. Dancing till I hurt, sharing a dessert, a moment, a friendship, a life, a family.

Singing in tune, singing in cars, singing in bars, staring at stars, warm summer sand, warm summer fruit, warm summer nights. International flights. Walking in snow, going with the flow, making new friends, making fun, making dinner, making love. Easily amused, easily confused, easily bemused. Stubborn, gullible, capable, memorable.

I recycle, reduce, reuse, but waste time, calories, money. I try not to regret, try not to judge, try not to be fake, a flake, out of control, bad to my soul. I appreciate, understand, love, live, every day.

At the recommendation of Ms. Kelli Shives I made my way downtown on tuesday to catch the first night of Ferraby Lionheart’s residency at The Bootleg Theater (for free!). Kelli had assured me that it would be an amazing night of music but I was suprised when I absolutely loved all three bands. I got there just as The Living Sisters were setting up. I had listened to them for a few seconds on MySpace and knew that I was in for something different and cool. All three are beautiful, have amazing voices and together they make some of the most incredible harmonies I’ve ever heard. Their energy on stage was contagious and I was totally smiling and laughing along with them in the crowd. The style of music is kind of hard to describe, they almost have a 50’s Doo Wop feel, but I’d say to just click on the myspace link and listen to How Glad Am I for the full effect. From the first song till the very last note they had the whole crowd enchanted, and I can’t wait to see them again.

Last but definitely not least was a band called The Spring Standards from New York City. I knew from Myspace that they were a folky band so I was excited to hear them live. The group consists of three friends, James, James and Heather and together they make beautiful music and three part harmonies. These three on stage are full of life and way goofy. They made me feel so comfortable and their set wrapped up the night so perfectly. I’m going to keep following them as best I can from across the country, and hope that they’ll be back in LA soon!
