When One Block Radius finally came on, I was feeling pretty good after the awesome music I’d been hearing all night at The Viper Room. Right off the bat there were a couple of things I loved. Firstly the singer Marty- sexy! Secondly Z-man’s dreads- so bad ass! What I heard next impressed me even more. One Block Radius manages to be the perfect combo of hip hop, alternative, and reggae, something different than anything i’ve heard before. Their song Broke Ass Holiday had me cracking up, and I think I literally danced for the entire set. These guys are definitely professionals with real talent, they have opened for De La Soul and Matisyahu, and their awesome energy and ability to connect with the crowd are reason enough to love them. I am convinced that before long everyone will know about One Block Radius (if they don’t already) so definitely check them out now.
